Fakes Psychics! Just For Fun!

Today has been a slow day on the paranormal front. So, as you all know. I like the Housewives of New York City. Don't worry I'm not going to write about the show per se. It's just that these women (very rich women) do have psychics on house-call to them. No kidding! And, they wont make a move until they are given the go ahead. Unbelievable!
So, I'll pass this funny article along to you:

GL TV Review: Ghost Hunters

I haven't done a review of GH in awhile. And, there's a major reason why? It hasn't changed. And, not for the better. So, not to rehash things. Let's get to the main problem.
In last nights show they were at a private residence. Small too. They have enough equipment on them to take on huge ships. So, why not cover the entire place from top to bottom. But, they don't. So many things are questionable. We saw a child's room with a toy carriage. Notice, we don't see the wheels. But, as evidence they show it moving. How do we know if "someone" is there off camera moving the darn thing. We hear footsteps. Upstairs and down. Where's the camera's? It's the same old, same old. And, you know what? It really doesn't seem to bother them. Which bothers me? I can't believe Syfy is continuing with their franchises series. There has to be some change "next" year. Because I'll let you all know. I'm not going to watch this show anymore. Period! It's a waste of my life. And, it's a shame. I love the paranormal.

Happy "1st" Anniversary, Ghost Lounge!

Well, I made it, so far. I can't believe a year went by that fast. So, here I would like to review some things.
First of all I would like to thank my followers. If it weren't for you guys. I would find it hard to continue writing. So, thanks again.
Second, the reason I started writing in the first place? I'm really a forum writer. And, the problems that I found then are the same today. So, I'm thankful for it forcing me to create my blog.
Last, the future. I would really like to have more time to really make my blog, pop! I need help in that department. But, I still have not gotten a "outside" group started. That's still my goal. The other is to do a journal of day trips to haunted locations. I wanted to do that last year. But, life got in the way. So, let's see this year will be different. I hope?
So, Happy 1st GL!

Haunted Summer Vacations Continue: Double Eagle Restaurant, Mesilla, NM

Now that we are nearing Cinco De Mayo. I thought it would be fun to find a haunted location in New Mexico.
The Double Eagle Restaurant was built during the 1840's after the Mexican American War.
The adobe building was a private home until the 1950's. During the years it has had many different businesses.
As the story goes there was a family call Maes or Maese. The Senora, Carlotta had plans for her very wealthy family. Mostly her eldest son, Armando. She wanted him to marry "up". She promised his hand to an aristocratic family in Mexico City. But, her son fell in love with a beautiful servant called Inez. They tried very hard to keep their love a secret. One day, the Senora came home early then expected. She found them in Love's Embrace. She went to her sewing basket to retrieve a pair of sewing shears. Nobody can really say what the "true" story is. There are so many versions. Either she stab one or both?
The hauntings consist of full bodied apparitions. The smell of lavender. Moving furniture, breaking glass, and whispering.

GL Popcorn Movie Review: The Skeptic

I really was looking forward to watch this movie (on cable). Great scenery, not a bad story. It did have the right feel, spooky. But, then as your watching (without giving anything away) it just fell flat. The writer had the basic idea right. It just went off course. Way, way off. And, it's a shame.
The condense story, it's about an attorney who thinks he inherited a huge mansion from his aunt. Good so far. But, then he finds out it's willed to a sleep study group. So, he sleeps at the mansion till it's finalized. That's where it goes, downhill. Bottom line, the main twist? The film goes from being a scary haunted story to a psychological thriller. The problem is, guess? The writer! He tried too hard for a fancy story and it failed. Sorry, to be so hard. So, see it. But, for free.

GL Book Review: "Brandywine Valley Ghosts" By Laurie Hull

There was a Borders Express closing down at the mall I was at. So, of course would rush in and grab as many good "ghost", "haunting", books as I can get. The first one I'm still in the process of reading. The whole title is "Brandywine Valley Ghosts, Haunts of Southeastern Pennsylvania" by Laurie Hull. She is the founder and director of Delaware County Paranormal Research.
It's a very cute little soft covered book. Full of pictures. And, it has one of my favorite things. It has some stories you normally wouldn't know about. Or, hear about. Real mysteries! Love it! The Brandywine region is steep in historical history of the American Revolution. So, this is a great gift for a history buff. It also where the great artist Andrew Wyeth comes from.
So, when I'm finished I will "finish" my book review. To be continued...

And Now For Something Completely Different: The Haunting Of Jill Zarin Of The Housewives Of NYC

Love this show! This Season 3 is the best. The cat fights are not to miss. Hey, there was even a psychic on the show. But, has anyone notice how Jill is always in someone face? About something or another. It's a kinda of scary!
First, poor Bethenney must have nightmares every night. As she's sleeps she hears Jill's voice, "Were done! Were done! Were done!"
Ramona always has Jill checking out her jewelry. Almost two inches away from her face. That face! That stare, questioning her taste. It makes Ramona eyes "pop out" more, and more. How frightening the thought.
LuAnn must be terrified of phone calls. With Jill's voice telling her on the other end of the line saying, "I have a man for you to meet. I can set you up. He's 85 years old". She get must have a shiver down her spine with every ring. But, she can't tell her. Because their new BFF's.
Poor Alex. As much as she wants to be the "calm one" of the group. Jill has her "black kettle" boiling. Very slowly. So, as they having any "conversation". Alex can feel the heat rising (mainly Jill's lying). As her blood pressure is rising. Jill turns the heat higher. The brew is almost done (who will win?). Or, is it?
And, Kelly. Well, what can I say about a space cadet. But, she does keep a close eye on Jill. Beware of strange emails! What do they mean?
But, beware of the "new" housewife, Sonja. What chills and thrills will she bring to the table. We shall see!

Plan For A Haunted Summer Vacation: First, Niagara Falls

Well, it's close to that time of year again. Last year I wrote about some of the usual places people go for vacation. This year I thought I'll swing around the country like the Griswald's. The old fashion Mom & Pop vacations. Route 66 style.
First, Niagara Falls I personally went years ago. The first thing you notice is the "sound". You can hear the fall about 5 miles away. And you think, "People live with this sound, a day long?". It always remind me of the old movie, "Niagara" with Marilyn Monroe.
The War of 1812 Niagara have seen one of the fierce's battles.
When visiting make sure you stay at a couple of Inns. Old Keefer Mansion in Thorold, Ontario was built in 1886. The building was built on the same land as the American Hospital of 1812. The Inn through the years was used as a mental hospital, a bar, apartment complex, and a retirement home. They hear footsteps in one of the rooms. Banging on the stairwell. Faucets turning on and off. Squeaking gates. The smell of pipe smoke in the basement. Which also where ghostly figures have been seen.
Another is Angel Inn in Niagara on the Lake. A British officer was murdered by two American soldiers in the basement (What is it with the basements?). People say that they feel cold spots in the bathrooms. The spirit is also known for it's dislike towards Americans. More so when the innkeepers want to serve American beer.
Stay at the Econo-Lodge (west of the falls). It's a short distance walk to the Drummond Hill Cemetery where it is said that people see the spirits of dying soldiers roaming around the cemetery's fields.
During your stay make sure you visit other haunted sites such as:

Most Famous Ghost Ship: Mary Celeste

The Mary Celeste was found abandoned minus the crew in 1872. The weather was perfect. The ship was in perfect condition in full sail headed to the Straits of Gibraltar. She has been at sea for a month with stock of 6 months of foods still in it. Everything untouched including valuables. Table settings and teapots untouched. She was a huge mystery at the time. Theories have ranged from alcoholic fumes (it was it's main shipment). To UFO's, piracy, insurance scam, earthquake, sudden storms, tsunami, waterspout, ergotamine, mutiny. It was also believed that the crew of the ship that found her the Dei Gratia was involved in the disappearance of the crew.
The most famous thing that came out of story. The beginning of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's writing. In his 1884 fiction book, "The Captain of The Polestart". There is one section in the book called, "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement". People wanted to believe that the character Jephson was a survivor of the Mary Celeste (which there were none). Mr. Doyle in another book created a character with the same name as an infant that was also on the Mary Celeste.

Do We Become Ghosts? I Wonder?

I've been asking this question to myself for years. As the older I get. The more I think we just up and die. Just, no more! I think the reason "I" want to believe there is something beyond is because of my experiences. But, are those "experiences" really the soul. Or, spirit. Ghost as we call it. Or, is it something else? Like another dimension? Which I seem more to lean to. I've written before about reincarnation. Which is another area I think it can be.
The taps, knocks, talking, appearances of ghosts. Should it be seen as "proof" of a beyond? I don't personally think so. It's the "what" is "it" we should look more closer at. It never seems with all these paranormal investigations that people ask that simple question. How can you help something you don't understand? Are they really trying to communicate with the living? Just what is "it" trying to do? Maybe it's a photograph kind of thing. It's just there.
I think this will be the future of paranormal investigations. Because there is nothing further you can do with just taking evps, photographs, thermals of every haunted location. The next step would be to understand what it is? And, why it is? And, is that going to be us in the future? It would help us understand to why this happens to us as human beings? If it really is the case?
