This is the second case I heard of someone that died while ghost hunting (the other was in Canada). I believe this should be the " number 1 " on everyone's check list. To be careful! In the the boy scouts they believe in "two-deep" leadership. When investigating please bring a partner with you at all times.

Confused About "Most Haunted"?
There seems to be something is going on with Most Haunted? I noticed that you can't find them on the Travel Channel anymore. Even on the website Living TV something just didn't look right?
Most Haunted been around since 2002, a couple of years before Ghost Hunters. They've been around a long time. I did notice that their show lately have been changing in recent years. I loved their "live" shows. Seven days straight of pure fun (I saw those on Youtube). But when they had the spin-off's like the Screaming Banshees and others. It just wasn't making much sense? I know Yvette had a major operation (even that was made a show of over in the UK).
Screaming Banshees
So I looked into what the heck was going on with the show? To my surprise just this past June Yvette Fielding has step down as hostess of Most Haunted.
Here's was happened to the series:
"After the first 11 episodes of the original series 7 were added to series 6, series 7 became a 6 episode series.
During the Most Haunted spin off series Midsummer Murders, the team filmed a 9 part series. However only 8 were ever aired. The 9th episode, filmed in Lymm Village and featuring a Jack the Ripper suspect, was never aired.
Series 10 was due to be a 20 part UK series but was made an 11 episode series after LIVING shelved the remaining 9 episodes for series 11, which was made up of the filmed UK episodes."
I don't understand what this means? Is it "done"? Know body is talking. What's even more confusing is that they just started a new Paranormal Channel in the UK back in 2008 (don't know if it's still on?). She is however still involved in the paranormal with a show called "Ghosthunting with ..."
Personally I think this is the start of the "slow down" I spoke about awhile ago on my blog. The supernatural wasn't a thing that people spoke about on a daily basis. Only us few do. It's just a matter of time when it goes back to being something that is just done on Halloween. Or talked about in front of a campfire late a night. Sad but true.

Bridge Cafe, The Oldest Haunted Drinking Establishment In NYC.
If anyone saw The Gangs of New York the film director pays homage to this particular bar. Rightfully so, it has a very colorful history behind it.
First of all, it's one of the very, very few wood standing structures left in Manhattan (maybe about three or so). The bar started it's life first as a grocery store in 1794 right by the East River (The World Trade Center was on the opposite end of Water Street on the Hudson River). Next door, in later years, came The Brooklyn Bridge. Fulton Fish Market was a stone's throw away (To this day it still brings in the freshest fish to the Cafe).
As for hauntings? The Cafe was once known as one of the rowdiest watering holes on Water Street. It was a brothel (otherwise known as a "disorderly house"), pirate bar "The Hole in the Wall", packing store, and many different kinds of restaurants. Reports have been shadows, footsteps, the feeling of being watched, and the smell of lavender
The paranormal group EPIC investigated the Bridge Cafe. Here's their findings:
As for colorful? It has to be the stories about Gallus Mag and Sadie the Goat. Here's some interesting quotes:
"Built in 1794, the Bridge Café was a stopping point for pirates, and also had one of the most famous bouncers in New York. Gallus Mag, an Englishwoman who stood more than six feet tall, was less than kind when throwing rowdy drunks out of the establishment; she’d drag an offender through the door with his ear in her teeth, and (depending on her mood) was known to bite off an ear or two and stash them in an old jar. Ms. Mag’s ghost is said to still haunt the café today."
"Sadie was a regular on Water Street, the Fourth Ward’s main drag and a favorite of sailors and those looking for underworld fun. A travel guide of the day called it the most violent street on the continent; another warned readers absolutely to steer clear after dark. The Fourth Ward Hotel kept a trapdoor to dump corpses into the East River. The street had no shortage of saloons and their unlicensed cousins, called “blind tigers,” which served the locals, slumming gentry and the criminals who preyed on all alike. On the corner of Water and Dover Streets was one of the roughest taverns of all, the Hole-in-the-Wall, the favorite basement hangout of Sadie the Goat.
By far the scariest bouncer at the Hole-in-the-Wall was Gallus Mag – a six-foot-plus Englishwoman with a truncheon tied to her wrist and a revolver tucked in her belt. Mag had a unique way of dealing with rowdy drunks: smacking the lout with her truncheon, dragging him to the door with his ear held firmly in her teeth, and if she was in the mood, biting off the ear before tossing its owner into the street. The ears were added to her collection, which she kept in a pickling jar behind the bar. One spring night Sadie ran afoul of Mag,"
It's also written that Gallus Mag would sharpen her teeth to fine points.
*One little added info: The Bridge Cafe has 6 beehives on their roof. All for fresh honey.

"New" Movies Coming Soon To A Theatre Near You!
I've noticed lately that not many "spooky" movies are being made. Which is a little odd to me? So here's a few (very few) that are coming out soon:
The Last Exorcism: (I'm not too crazy about this one. It's too much trying to follow The Grudge "look".)
The Black Swan: (This looks interesting. Lots of twists and turns. She really becomes the black swan. Real evil.)
Enter The Void:(Now, this movie is a really psychedelic's dream. It's a junky that comes back as a ghost to protect his sister.)
Vampires Suck: Comedy (Typical teen picture. One of the guys from "The Hangover" works in it. It's a "take it, or leave it" kind of movie.)

Roebling Museum, Roebling, NJ. Is It Haunted?
The Main Gate Building has been empty for decades when the Roebling Company - Kinkora Works Steel Mill closed in 1974. Steel cables and support structures for the Brooklyn Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge and many other "known" structure's that have used their products. The list is endless.
Just recently the Roebling Museum has been opened up for the public to visit. The museum use to be the gate house where from hundreds of people pass through to go to work in shifts around the clock in the 240 acres facility. Many went in, and many never came out.
One paranormal group went in to conduct an investigation along with a local radio personality. The reason they wanted to do the investigation was they were hearing about "activities" going on while the gate house was being renovated for the museum.
It was confirmed by one of the museum's employees that a man did hang himself there in the 1930's. In the area of the building (shown in old building blueprints) that was used as jail cells and a first aid area. You have to remember, many people died at the mill due to industrial accidents. (Many were written about in the old, New Jersey Mirror newspaper)
Personally I'm not an investigator but this place should have a second investigation. The first group didn't write clearly their findings (I can't even find their website). Just the usual cold spots, being touched and so on. Do I think it's haunted? Sure! Who knows how many have passed away during the centuries. Maybe even too many to count.

New York Times Write-Up About The Hauntings At "The Copper Queen Hotel", AZ
Saw this article yesterday's NYT Sunday newspaper. Great article about The Cooper Queen Hotel's hauntings. But mainly about their Ghost Tours that they run weekly at the hotel. Ghost Hunters did an investigation there awhile ago. I thought I will just pass along the article to you guys with the Ghost Hunters synopsis too:

Ghost Hunters To Visit "The Solitude House" At The Philadelphia Zoo, PA
I heard sometime ago that the Philadelphia Zoo was haunted (In what capacity? I don't know?). I don't think anyone ever investigated it, until now. The Ghost Hunters this season will be investigating The Solitude House (and the Shelly Building). I never heard of the place. It's a house built by William Penn's grandson in 1784. And it's open to the public. There is a $500,000 restoration being done right now to the house. Maybe this is a way for the city or the zoo to make some money to pay back for it's restoration (Just saying it's haunted). It make you wonder? Doesn't it?
One more stop for the Ghost Tours to visit.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Are Going To Be On Ghost Hunters. What No Wrestlers?
Anyone that knows me by now. Knows I love RHONY (Real Housewives of NYC) on Bravo. I saw the "new" Promo during watching the finale of GHI. I was thinking, "What? The Real Housewives of Atlanta?". How did they come up with the idea of putting them on the show? I was laughing when I saw Kim (the blond with the wig). Is she going to sing "Tardy for the Party"! Bet you Big Poppa is going to be hanging around. Who's next? The Jersey Shore?
This is one strange combo of people to put together. I've been hearing lately more women are going into the paranormal field then men. Maybe there trying to grab a "new" audience for their show? Who knows?
Not a wrestler in sight!

New Show On The History Channel: "Gates Of Hell"
The photo you see above was taken from a satellite of a volcano in Iceland.
There is a 6 part documentary that's airing on the History Channel on Tuesday 8 EST. I just missed the first show last night. Don't worry it airs again Tonight at 12AM EST.
Description of the show.

Description of the show.
Gates of Hell "There are six places on Earth believed to be actual entrances into Hell. They include a volcano in Iceland, a cave in the jungles of Central America, and a lake of fire in Africa. According to ancient myth and Christian legend, each is a passage to a terrifying underworld for the damned. Even today, some believe they are still portals. Eerily, they share striking similarities. We'll visit these six locations, and along the way, reveal how the concept of Hell emerged in history and why it still evokes fear today."
Sounds interesting? Now if I can stay awake enough to see it?

New Electronic "iWay Planchette" For The Quija Board.
When I was at The Ghosthunter Store for my GH 101 class. This "new" electronic planchette was mentioned. It was shot down very fast. For me, it was the first time I heard of it? So to my surprise while researching about Shannon Sylvia for my last post. I almost fell off my chair. I saw this iWay Planchette on her website. It was mentioned that it was co-developed by Shannon. I thought, "So this is the electronic planchette they were talking about at the store?".
It seems this Father and Son are the developers from Nyack, NY. They created a youtube commercial. Which is pretty corny in a funny way. So, I'll let it speak for itself:

Oh, The Drama! On Ghost Divas LIve August 4th, 2010
Ghost Divas LIve August 4th, 2010
(click above to listen!)
The Ghost Divas guests on this day was Brian Harnois and Shannon Sylvia both former members of GHI. When originally listening to the show I thought they would talk about, what else? Ghosts! Nope, it was mainly to vent about Donna La Croix (she has been on Ghost Divas awhile ago). The show was 2 1/2 hours long. Phew! I'm pooped!
So, what did I get out of the show? It seems Donna wrote on her Facebook, I believe. Something negative about the two of them (Brian and Shannon). Which totally surprised them! The show started off real hyper. People talking on top of one another. As it calmed down (Warning! Four letter words all over the place) the conversation leads to talking about Donna lying about herself that she has cancer (The point they are trying to make on this show: If she's lying about this. She's lying about us), someone named Dan Bell (I have no idea who he is?), Donna not being a good Godmother to Brian's oldest daughter, and Brian coming out that he's bi-polar.
There's an old saying, "Two wrongs. Don't make a right!". Just because Donna wrote something negative doesn't mean you join the band wagon and say something negative about her. It just doesn't look good. Not to say if she was first that started these messy conversations. Then she's the worst culprit in this case. They all have one thing in common. They all left the Ghost Hunters franchise. It seems lately to have created for all of them, a "harder" uphill climb for all of them to continue in this field. In the show biz end of it. It just has everyone on edge. It's a shame I really like these guys. It's sad that this is how it ended.
I have always written about my take on all this "paranormal mania" that's been going on. It's been slowing down, Thank God! It always a surprises me how it turned into this circus in the first place. Too many people are out there right now are involved in this just for the money. Or, how to get money/make money from this fad. It's sad to see people getting so caught up into the "making money" end of it. It changes people and relationships. Stepping on other people's toes to climb to the top of the Money Tree. Not to get off-topic but 'American Chopper" right now shows the break-up of a total family business in the new series. This is all done for one reason alone. To keep money rolling in at any cost. They just as well should have ended the show.
Then there are those out there strictly into the "fame". Just to become famous. That's another ball of wax altogether. They have to sit down and make up their minds why are they involved in this field in the first place? Maybe going back to square one is the answer? A clean slate. Go in a different direction. Yes, and it can be in the paranormal field. But know that you wont get rich. Enjoy what you love!

Happy Friday The 13th! Good Luck!
There are so many "bad luck" superstitions I can't even begin to count. I'm I afraid of the big bad "13". Na, not at all. Sometimes I wouldn't even notice unless someone says, "Oh, did you know today is Friday the 13th?".
So, for all of you that would like to understand what is this all about or mean. Here's a great list:

The Five Fishermen Restaurant, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
The restaurant was originally built as a school house in 1817. Later it became an Art School run by Anna Leonownens (of "The King and I" fame). As soon as she left to become the Governess to the King of Siam the building was bought by John Snow & Co. Funeral Home. Snow & Company for the next several years ran a very brisk business. Starting with the sinking of the Titanic. Some of the wealthier victims such as John Jacob Aster and others were bought to the funeral home. Next was The Halifax Explosion in December of 1917. It claimed close to 2,000 people.
Over the years the building have seen other uses, including being a warehouse.
In 1975 The Five Fishermen opened it's doors to it's first customers. Many wait staff during the years have had strange experiences: a glass flying off a shelf, cutlery falling off tables, faucets turning on by themselves, swinging doors moving on their own, pockets of cold air.
One waitress have seen a grey apparition moving down a staircase. Others heard their names being called, being tapped on the back while they were working.
There has been more stranger occurrences. Late one night a waiter heard what seems to be two people having an argument.
Another one was about to close and saw something in the corner of her eye. When she went check out the entire place. There was no one there.
Then there is the "regular" haunting of an old elderly gentleman. The haunting always occur at 3:00PM. Several wait staff have seen his reflection in the restaurant's mirror. They would turn quickly to see no one there.
A waitress heard tapping outside the second floor window. As she looked out she saw a grey mist.
The only one serious occurrence was a waitress being slapped by an unknown source. The customers she was tending to asked what has happened to her face? When she check herself, she saw a red hand print.

NIN (Nine Inch Nails) Album: Ghosts I - IV
Very interesting album of about 36 instrumental musical pieces. It came out in 2008. The funny thing is I can't really describe the sound? It seems more like background music. Not heavy at all. It's not bad!
"Trent Reznor explains, "I've been considering and wanting to make this kind of record for years, but by its very nature it wouldn't have made sense until this point. This collection of music is the result of working from a very visual perspective - dressing imagined locations and scenarios with sound and texture; a soundtrack for daydreams. I'm very pleased with the result and the ability to present it directly to you without interference. I hope you enjoy the first four volumes of Ghosts."

New Forum For Those Who Want To Vent About The Paranormal!
How many of you have been to paranormal websites. Whether it's a TV show, just a regular paranormal websites, or blogs, and so on. They all usually have forums that people love to go and spend a little time (maybe too much) to commiserate talking about the subject. But things don't usually go to plan.
It leads too many times people being disgruntled about the paranormal. That's when things begin to go wild on the forums It's always starts with skeptics vs. believers all the way to in-fighting among members of a particular group. It really can get real dirty fast. People are always getting ban from the forums left and right. It's just plain nasty. I haven't been on one for a while and I really don't miss it.
So imagine to my surprise to see that someone came up the most interesting idea. To set up a forum where people can go in and say what they please (only one rule stands: No names). The name of the website is Paradrama.com. I haven't personally gone in there "Not Interested". I'm not into the drama. I have to watch my HBP, Don't be shy if this is your cup of tea. Please let me know what you think? It has to be quite interesting!

Nightcrawlers At The DMV. No, I'm Not Kidding!
As I promised I would put up the pics of the "nightcrawlers" I saw at the DMV in NJ. What's weird about these figures I don't remember seeing them there before? (Obviously they've been there a long time) I wrote about the Nightcrawlers on my blog Friday, July 23rd titled "Nightcrawlers? Really? On Syfy's "Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files". I received a huge response on this topic. Which brings me back to the pictures. They look very much the same. A matter of fact too much the same. Which makes me wonder where this idea comes from in the first place? Did someone see these (the figures at the DMV) before? Or are people actually seeing aliens that look like these strange creatures? Weird huh? What do you think?

Did you ever wonder why bad things are happening to you? Why nothing is working out the way you want? Or you feel always ill? Just all around bad things happen all the time?
This is not to be confused for someone that is suffering from some mental illness. That has to be crossed out first.

How to get rid of this? First of all stay away from anyone that you think is wishing you "bad luck". It's the old "Out of sight, out of mind!" trick. There is also a belief you can cause this on to yourself. Just by have a negative personality.

Hex Old World Witchery Shop, Salem, MA
First of all, I'm not a witch. Just a sensitive. I've recently notice that some people are "lost" when strange things are beginning to happen to them. Things they don't understand, seeing things, hearing things, things that go bump in the night (or day).
If you don't want to do an investigation or a do-it-yourself investigation (with equipment). The next best thing is to go to your local church (or whatever religion you follow). Speak to someone. No, they wont think your crazy. They get tons of people with the same problem.
But if this is not the answer you are looking for either. Then you can go online and buy yourself "protection". Even get "rid" of the nuisance. In every city you can find little shops Their called under many different names. It's easier then you think! Hex is a pretty good one to go shopping online with. Almost every known medium that is out there today uses this shop.
If this is not your bag. Then just get holy water (any Catholic Church gift shop). Sea salt and a good prayer. In every corner of your house sprinkle holy water, sea salt, and say the prayer. Every corner! And around your bed. This should work.
Again, don't be afraid to check online. It's better to have piece of mind. Then to be upset any day then living with something you don't understand or want.

Never heard of this DJ before until his recent collapse on stage this past July. All this happened because of a giant mouse head he was wearing. He had to let go of nine of his concert dates because of exhaustion. Enjoy!

Part 2: My Day At The Basic Ghost Hunting 101 Class
I personally don't know how a basic class in ghost hunting is suppose to consist of. However at The Ghosthunter Store they do take care of the basic comfort needs, like air conditioning and a bathroom. There was a table set-up with all the equipment, equipment boxes and slide show. One person was running the "class" and two other helpers at hand.
To get down to the nitty-gritty, it's basically what you see in all the ghost/paranormal shows that are out there. Heck, I even know the lingo. It's just short of an actual investigation. So I'm going to jump forward.
What did I learn that I didn't know before I attended the class?
For one thing. I didn't know that the flashlights they use their lenses are either red or green? And that some of the EMF readers don't have back light? They say it's because it's hard for your eyes to refocus from the brightness of the light. That's why you see on TV them using a flashlight whenever they do readings.
I also didn't know there was a website called "ghostweather.com". This is for a paranormal group to prepare or maybe change their plans to investigate that particular night.
Lastly, they mentioned that there is a website for a free software download for reading EVP's called "Audacity" that they highly recommend.
There is a piece of "new" equipment called an "E-Pod". Very easy to use. It lights up a different color when something pass by it
This particular paranormal group also discuss if whether this is a good hobby for you to go into? They talk about cost of equipment (they recommend strongly "NOT" to spend a lot of money).
Most important to me. They give warning about that you are dealing with a spirit that once was a human being walking the planet at one time. To respect the spirit but also protect yourself. You might be dealing with a demon. Do a protection prayers. Carry a medal, something to protect you from the "unknown".
In all, I found it to be interesting. I do like the idea that they run many different classes. Like for me personally I like the class for "Mediumship", for others "Learning how to contact with your angels", "Animal spirit guides" etc.
Do I think it's worth taking a class? If your really, really, into the paranormal. I would say yes. I found it to be interesting and an eyeopening experience.

Part 1: My First Impressions Of My Ghost Hunting 101 Class
The class was held in an small old attached house that was built around the late 1700's to early 1800's (all original inside) at The Ghosthunter Shop in Mt. Holly, NJ. The whole area has that eerie feel to it because of it's Revolutionary War history (also the Burlington County Jail Museum is located in the same town). Many of the homes and stores are original to that particular era with hauntings of their own. As you walk in through the front door on the first floor it has two main rooms (there is a back storage room). The first room has religious items: amulets, crosses, medals, candles, incense, smudgers, books, some equipment. Second room has mostly equipment and rocks and crystals all in old fashion antique wooden glass cabinets. The store has that typical "Halloween" decor and feel to it down to the faux Persian rugs. However it's very cheerful.
Upstairs (which is the typical 1700's spiral staircase) is where they have the meeting room for classes and private storage area. Incense and smudging was done before we started the class in the morning. Because I am a sensitive I felt that heavy feeling at first. I asked the woman in charge if anything happened here. She said yes (I'll get into that later). There were nine of us in the class. Mainly people searching for answers. One young girl came in with an EVP of her boyfriend who has passed away. None of us were there to become investigators. They do run a 2 day class for that. Which consist of hands-on equipment and an investigation up in the attic area. Marti was our instructor for the day because Dave was ill. She was great and she's also a medium. It's a very friendly place. They have no shortage of staff either. It's seems that on Saturday's is a very busy day for them. The class itself runs from 10-5 with a lunch break. A little advise for anyone interested thinking of taking this particular class or any of their other classes that they run at the store. Bring a stadium foam pad seat with you and a drink. The folding chairs can really do a number on you. If you know what I mean?
