Pukwudgies, Who?

The name sounded so much like the rhyme "Pudgy Wudgy was a bear..."
If any of you have watched the start of the new season of "Paranormal State" yesterday. You would know what I'm talking about.
The family did look very concern about this entity that is living in their home.  Frighting their children and themselves out the door.  Just to hear Ryan say (nothing against him) at the end of the investigation "Pukwudgies" was so funny.  And the homeowners faces were golden. They were so stone faced. I think it's just out of confusion and just plain stunned. I can see it in their eyes, "This is what is haunting our home?". I can't get into the whole story. But it's all based on American Indian folklore. Mostly around the area of Cape Cod, MA. Hairy midget creatures with claws.

Also another controversy will come up based on this particular episode. A la "Collargate" fame of GH. Remember that Halloween Special? Chad was in the basement when he said he felt a scratch on his leg.  It did showed up on camera that you can see the back of his shirt being "tugged", hard, around the sametime. If you missed it. Give it time. It will show up on Youtube, trust me. I'll keep you posted.

  1. Haven't watched this show in ages. I think "Pukwudgie" is a new word Ryan learned and was desperate to put it into some kind of context. From what I know of them (in Native American lore), they were once friendly to humans but turned against them. They are extremely hostile, causing all kinds of mischief, especially to those who tick them off, which apparently includes people disappearing, mysterious fires, suspicious yet unexplainable accidents, and animal growls.

  2. LMAO! You have to watch this show. When you get a chance.
At the interview at the end of the investigation. He told them to plant a strawberry patch. To rid of these creatures. No joke.
I like PS. But this is not a good start.

  3. LOL Well, I guess even Pukwudgies have a sweet tooth! I did get to watch the episode finally. It was certainly interesting!

When put into the context within the episode itself, I guess Pukwudgies does fit the description, at least partially, but I'm still not convinced. They're also reminiscent of one of the "aes sĂdhe", the "puca". It's true that sometimes a simple trade will appease the "evil spirits", so perhaps (being woodland spirits) that would do the trick. Hehe!

  4. Glad someone else watched it. "Puca" lol, the six foot rabbit? (it was a movie)
The family looked at him like he was crazy. The bad news is. They still have the problem.

  5. LOL Not the rabbit, "Puca" (aka Pooka) is goblin in Irish folklore. What Ryan should have told them is to plant pumpkins, apples and other "harvest" fruits and veg, setting aside a portion for the Puca (Pukwudgies) to placate them. Ryan doesn't actively look into the history of the haunted locations, it seems, because I think if he delved deeper I'm sure he'd find a lot more going on than something else un-"pukka".

  6. I thought "one" show would run a whole hour (like GH). But it's just 1/2 hour shows (just like before?). So Ryan can't condense that must information. In such a small time frame.
And yes, they could as well planted an apple tree.

  7. The folklorist said something "like a strawberry bush". He also inferred that once planted they would need to be invited to the new plot, not just plant it and go.

  8. I think I have a Pukwudgie in my house. I just came home from school, no one was home. i looked down the hallway and there it was; crouching on my bedroom floor. It was gray skinned, lanky, large mouthed (long yellowish teeth), black eye'd, long ears (wolf-like) and huge, clawed hands. It creeped me out, but, whatever that creature was, it hasn't bothered me since 2009. I'm pretty sure I've seen it out of the corner of my eye a few times a month. Hope you peoplez believe me.
